I'm on pc and have the g923 and it won't detect it but once in the game if you hit windows key+g to open up game bar and then press a button on the wheel it will register and then you can use the wheel but it will disconnect again randomly. I also have my hardware stats pinned so I can see cpu and gpu usage while in game ...
There are quite a number of settings videos on YouTube for the G920/923. The scales for the force feedback items changed between 4 and 5 and don't seem to have a direct correlation. Forza has wheel setting guides on their support page for both 4 and 5 that do a good job of explaining each setting.
